DENVER, Colorado – The Democratic Convention is unfolding in an impressive venue – a sports arena refitted with a dazzling electronic backdrop and stage.Where we work is a little more modest.

We're in a 'box' – a space that is normally used to seat small groups and parties.

It's been turned into a cramped TV newsroom, with computers, cables and scrap paper littering the floor.

We broadcast from the front of the box, where the best seats would be.

Our CNN International 'box' position puts us shoulder to shoulder with correspondents from other CNN networks, like CNN.Com, CNN Espanol and the like.

It's sometimes more like a crowded subway car than a TV studio, but it's all part of the convention ambience.

i have one comment about how barck obama is presented to the public as the first black president while is mix-race. he should present himself as an American representing all races and not branding the card of the first black president when is not 100% black. That also show how America is still under racism , as black from Africa living in the Uk i found it shocking.

CNN has done exceptionally well capturing the convention ambiance – hopeful, diverse yet united, and determined to create positive change. But, as a Canadian fan of CNN's political team, I must say I have been disappointed with the content of CNN anchor discussions. The primary focus has been on petty political issues, both among the democrats (Hillary supporters vs. Obama supporters) and the "he said ~ he said" between the Obama camp and McCain camp. What a shame. I am hopeful that tonight's coverage of Obama's speech will be on his and the democratic party's position on the real issues at hand – the economy, national/international safety & security, the environment, health care....
